Please let SSW IT know if you plan to work abroad so we can ensure your technology is updated and secured.
SSW IT would like to meet with you and your device to do the following:
- Ensure that device encryption is enabled on all of your SSW devices
- Review the device to ensure that the latest OS and software security patches have been applied.
- Review that the Rutgers VPN software is installed on your laptop and that you are familiar with
using it. Connecting to the VPN is recommended for ALL internet use abroad. - Ensure that you are aware and know how to access the multiple methods of DUO
authentication, including those that do not require an internet connection. - Out of an abundance of caution, backup all important files to cloud storage or external media.
- Ensure your SSW phone has been set up with an international calling plan. Do this as early as
possible. The SSW business office will need to request this plan change and it may take several
days to process and apply the change to your SSW phone plan.
