Teaching Circles

The semester is off and running, and things are going well. Thank you for making reentry to in-person teaching as successful.  I am writing to let you know that we will have four Teaching Circle meetings in the fall 2022 semester and three in the spring 2023 semester. For new PTLs, the Teaching Circle is an informal forum in which we share our experiences in the classroom and offer suggestions regarding pedagogy and classroom management. You will receive the call-in info via email. Here are the dates and times:

Kick off Calls

End of August, we will be hosting kick off calls. We strongly encourage you to attend these meetings. You will meet with our Instructional Design team and course coordinators to update you on course content and any other relevantinformation for the semester. Please contact James Luke at lukejm@ssw.rutgers.edu if you have not received the call-in info already.

Canvas/Zoom training dates

Canvas Basics – this workshop is for those new to Canvas who want a more focused training on how to use the different features of Canvas for your synchronous-remote or asynchronous online course.  The workshop will include an overview of the basics (logging in, setting your profile, how to use the different navigation tools), as well as how to personalize your courses (publishing items, updating due dates, uploading videos), and an overview of how to use the Speed Grader/gradebook functions.  The workshop will also review how to set up Zoom in Canvas.
